Seriously: autumn is my favourite season. A large tea pot at hand, on the couch with a snug plaid by the open fire, That is what makes me happy. Not just the atmosphere inside, also outside, with the beautiful autumn colours. As far as I'm concerned, ample inspiration to create the same warm and cosy ambiance at our hotels. It is reflected by our beautiful flower boquets and by the menu. The latter also follows the season.
In April we opened the newest Van der Valk Hotel Utrecht. It was a busy, but above all grateful time, since I've become grandmother to my granddaughter Ivy.
Even though the days shorten in autumn, we at Van der Valk Hotel Utrecht still enjoy working long hours. In September our seven theme suites were ready. In addition to the lovely standard room guests can now book an extra luxurious suite, with various themes, including Tokyo, New York and Marrakech. My personal favourite is the Reykjavik Suite, a wellness suite that allows you to indulge in the Northern light. Truly magnificent!
This month we will also offer the Live Cooking Buffet on Saturday and Sunday and the Sunday morning will have a brunch buffet as well from now on. We've made a children's kitchen, where the kids can cook. And taste. We've also created a space in the shape of a children's wood with nesting boxes, trees and cute lamps.
The centre of Utrecht with its theatres, museums and shops is only ten minutes away. Would you rather go outside for a fine autumn walk or bike tour? Our hotel is very close to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug (sand ridge), the second largest wooded area in the Netherlands.
After an active day you can regenerate on the twentieth floor, in our brand new wellness department with swimming pool. Is there anything that calls for a celebration in the near future and would you fancy a splendid view of the city of Utrecht, while enjoying a sparkling wine? Do not hesitate and contact our sales department. Our Skybar on the twentieth floor is the right venue with many options. Did you know that you don't have to patiently stare at the doors while going up by elevator, but that it feels like an actual journey...?
